Bald-Faced Liar follows the daily life of Elizabeth May, a charming woman who spies on strangers and lies to everyone she meets. Her curious habits are a shield, meant to protect her after the childhood trauma of a Satanic panic trial. As a traveling nurse, she moves often so no one can get close to her, but being on her own means she has no one to turn to when a stranger begins infiltrating her life and exposing her lies.

I hope you all enjoy my first true beach read!!!

First Trade Review!

May 25, 2024 by Victoria

So excited to report that the first trade review for FOLLOW HER DOWN is in!

The quote in the text below is highlighted here in bright colors.

Midwest Book Review says, “A simply riveting novel of suspense… a complex and deftly crafted story built upon decades of doubt, fear, and suspicion that will not allow a woman overcome her trauma at the unexplained loss of her sister and the mysterious and possibly linked death of her ex-husband. Original and fascinating from start to finish, Follow Her Down is a strongly recommended pick for personal reading lists and community library conspiracy suspense/thriller fiction collections.”

Follow Her Down is out on June 4! If you pre-order today, I’ll show up at your house bright and early on 6/4/24! Only in book form, I promise.

Pre-order now!

Book Club Questions – At the Quiet Edge

February 6, 2023 by Victoria

The cover for At the Quiet Edge by Victoria Helen Stone. A cloudy night sky is lit from below by a solitary streetlight. A car drives away from us down a lonely highway, the brake lights are lit up in red.

Hi all! I got a request for some book club questions for At the Quiet Edge, so I’ve brainstormed a few for you here! Careful, there is one spoiler in the questions, so I’ve marked it with a warning. Happy reading!

  1. How did the setting of At the Quiet Edge —a self-storage facility at the edge of town— influence your response to the story? How did it contribute to the plot in ways other settings might not have?
  2. Did the small town of Herriman feel different from other small town book settings? How did it compare with your own experience of small towns? Are there reasons for any differences?
  3. Was Lily’s withholding of information from Everett right or wrong?
  4. Were your reactions different when experiencing fear and danger through Everett’s eyes than they were through Lily’s point of view?
  5. How did Lily change by the end of the book?
  6. [SPOILER]…….. Did you-know-who redeem himself? Do you think his new relationship with Everett will be beneficial?
  7. Which character did you most identify with?
